SimpliSafe Smart Lock Review

SimpliaSafe smart door lock is extremely simple to install and works with most deadbolts. You can install the deadbolt with just a screwdriver.

The smart gate lock connects to your home WiFi with the SimpliSafe Security System acting as the bridge. Thus, you can use your SimpliSafe to lock/unlock the your door or share access for your guests remotely.

If you forget to bring your phone runs out of power, you can still get access to your home via entering the password on the PIN pad.

And the pad is weatherproof so you can install it outdoors without worrying about rain or shine.

The smart lock also enables you to program your door when you arm or disarm the system. You can even schedule the door to lock automatically when your door is left open for 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes.

You are gonna need to pay $25 per month for the interactive monitoring subscription.

SimpliSafe Smart Lock Installation Instructions (with a Video)

Here we will share a step-by-step guide to help you install your SimpliSafe smart door lock.

To use your smart lock seamlessly, you’ll need to have the SimpliSafe Security System at home for pairing the lock, and the lock only works with and requires a single cylinder deadbolts.

Step 1. Stick the included adhesive strip over your deadbolt outside. DO NOT remove the outdoor part of your deadbolt.

Step 2. Unscrew your deadbolt’s thumbturn inside your door. Hold onto the screws for Step 4.

Step 3. Remove the mounting plate from the smart lock. Slide out the latches on the back of the lock and then remove the mounting plate.

Step 4. Confirm which face of the mounting plate should be toward the door. Put the mounting plate on the thumbturn connector.

Use your deadbolts screws (mentioned in Step 2) to mount the plate to the deadbolt firmly.

Note: Don’t over tighten the screws. If the screws are too thin to hold the mounting plate, please use the included washers.

Step 5. Pick an adapter that corresponds to the shape of your door’s existing tailpiece.

Step 6. Keep your door unlock (turn the thumbturn to the unlocked position). Make sure the lock’s latches are out.

Step 7. Slide the door lock over the adapter. Slowly turn the thumbturn until the device aligns with the adapter.

Step 8. Slide the latches inward onto the mounting plate.

Step 9. Test the lock by manually turning the thumbturn on the lock.

Step 10. Put up the PIN pad. Use the adhesive to stick the PIN pad to the outside of the door.

Leave a 3-inch space below the PIN pad for accessing the batteries.

Step 11. Activate the lock using your SimpliSafe System’s keypad.

Note: If the lock doesn’t show up in the “Add Device”, check for updates on the SimpliSafe Security System’s keypad through going to Menu -> System Settings -> Check for Updates.
